Nashville Snow: January 2010

One of the things I’ve loved about living in the Nashville, Tennessee area is that fact that we get to experience all four seasons. We usually only get three or four snows per winter, and not all of them stick. But this week I was pleasantly surprised to see the weather predictions come to fruition. Ha… even Lisa Patton of WKRN Nashville said that many of us would wake up last Friday thinking, “They did it again”, since the meteorologists have often called for snow in Nashville and then the storm passed us by. Even though they knew the impending snow storm may not show up as early as they thought, the local weather forecasters stuck to their guns and kept warning that by the end of the day we’d have our snow.

Well, we did. It was beautiful! I live in Sumner County, Tennessee, on the ridge north of Nashville. While I didn’t feel like facing the elements and stepping outside with my ruler to check the snow depth myself, others did. It looks like we got about 7 inches, give or take, in the White House, Cottontown, Cross Plains areas.

I didn’t take these pictures of our neighborhood until Monday, but you can see there’s still quite a bit on the ground. Just thought I’d share them.
